Welcome to the Wineman’s wine Blog. Be nice to hear comments on wines, vines, and wine writers. There are a number of wine writers who seem to miss the point on a number of wines, as such the time has come for the launch of the latest and greatest wine comments page in the recent history of wine comments pages.
It is possible but unlikely that you will read the word “Opulent”, or “texture”, or “cigar box”, or “apple blossum” – after all how many orchardists go out into the orchard and comment on things like “Wow, this reminds me of the Riesling I was drinking from Domaine Joe Blogs” (nothing against your wines of course Mr Blogs).
So, what I would like to see would be comments on wines such as “I had the Domaine Blogs Gruener Veltliner yesterday, and it was so good I had to have another glass immediately and presently the bottle was finished and I was left screaming for more. I was eating whitebait patties at the time and my goodness, what a combo! And it was only $13.50 at Countdown, this is really worth a try.”
And so it is born, “The BEst Ever Wine Blog”, and let it be known that the first wine ever reviewed was, is,
the Laverique 2004 Vintage sparkling Pinot noir Chardonnay. Whoa! AT a steal of a price ($27 at New World) this wine is all about chapagne without the name and price tag. SUch sauntered on down with that crisp acidity you would expect of a great glass of champers. And as noted above, if you have some whitebait fritters and some dancing girls you will be in heaven!
